I loved that radio broadcast from the late 70's, and later the book, but that's been so loooong ago I'll have to read it ago to see what it was about 
A concrete bunker sounds like a good idea. I'll start buying sand now. I can start storing it, uhm, er, in my car? or shoeboxes in my closet?
