    That is pretty damn impressive.
I always wondered how R2D2 did that - now I know

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Ooh, I 'NEED' one of those in full colour for my living room at home. Oh, and I want at least a 3' spinning mirror on it. Looks like full 3D TV may not be too far away.

It may be my failing eyesight (or my natural cynicism) but the "interactive bit" where the bloke is supposedly manipulating the image doesn't seem right.
Towards the end of that section it looks like the bloke's hand is mirroring the movements of the head rather than vice versa.

I thought a hologram was something produced in thin air (in the R2D2 sense anyway).
As there's a very hard spinning mirror in the way, any attempt to touch the image would result in a chipped fingernail at the very least (and we all know what a bitch that can be!)

Thats gotta be the neatest thing I've ever seen. I think it will be neat to watch this technology expand over the next few years. Wish I knew what company made it and what thier stock symbol is!

Kinda looks like a university project to me

As far as I know there's no "R2D2" type holography technology available at this time -only spinning mirror, and thats cutting edge..
    (no pun intended)
