Default Best way to educate myself on lasers

I am going to be starting a long career in laser tattoo removal as a business owner.
Problem is while I know how how to use the a laser and don't have much knowledge on how lasers work, and no idea on how to fix them.

Case in point, the laser i just bought (used but still very expensive) froze while it shipped to me. The heat exchanger cracked, and a bunch of flow switches went, and that might still be the tip of the iceberg. I was quoted $2800 for a heat exchanger replacement (that is just the part) and its only about half the size of the one in my car. I found that there are not many people who repair them and I feel like I am at the mercy of their suggestions which are often conflicting.

I would like to expand my business to multiple locations and be able in most cases to fix the machines myself.

What resources should I start with? Online courses? school? While searching online I'm a bit overwhelmed.

    Cheers

... most important, even more important then laser-knowhow, is a specific medical/biological background, related to "laser-curing" human tissue and such! ... other wise your "long career in laser tattoo removal" won't last this long and other (mostly legal) issues will burden your income ...
