    Default GSI120DT scanners.

i'm trying to find a link to the company that makes GSI 120dt scanners.
pulslight uses them in our yellow raptor projector, but the claims they make for speed, GSI 120DT; 45º / 45.000pps;, seem exaggerated.
    surely,at 45 degrees,this isn't true.
    am i right?

    edit-i found this link,http://www.gs-scanners.com/index.html,but i don't see the gsi120dt's there.
also,it is an american company and i am under the impression that the scanners, also called magic eye or eye magic(can't get the laser out of the crate by myself to check),are itialian.

The quote is correct, if a bit misleading. They are capable of 45Kpps, and they are ALSO capable of a maximum deflection of 45 degrees. However, they can NOT scan the ILDA test pattern at 45Kpps at 45 degrees. It's a one-or-the-other deal. Such statements are common for galvos, but they can be confusing at times.

A good example is the DT-40 scanners. They're advertized as 40Kpps, 60 degrees optical. But in fact, they'll only do about 10 degrees at full speed. If you slow them down, then you can get the full 60 degrees.

    Make sense?

    yes,thanks.
pulslight also lists a speed of 52,000 pps.
that must be at the lowest possible angle.
i must humbly admit my buddy does the computer work.
we do dial it back as it gets messy at higher speeds and angles.

    thanks.
it seems weird they would be called magic eye.
gs scanning seems to be a u.s. co. and i am under the impression magic eye is an italian brand.

don't sweat the replies as this is just idle curiosity on my part.
    peace,
    wes
