For any developers out there that haven't implemented IDN in their software yet, this is now easier to do than ever before, because I have extended the official Helios DAC C++ libraries with a seamless, backwards-compatible IDN client implementation.
This means that developers can simply replace their existing Helios DAC library with the updated version, and just like that their software can now detect and output to any IDN DACs, including the OpenIDN adapter. Code is still cross platform and open source.

I have been in contact with some big names and they are working on enabling IDN in their software as we speak. But I will leave the announcements to them, no spoilers.

In other news: Several firmware updates have come out since this adapter was first released, improving the stability and fixing some bugs, especially with wave mode output (used by f.ex. MadMapper and the new Helios library). Now the core functionality is stable and work will shift to to adding new features, like offline ILD file playback, the ability to connect several USB DACs to a single adapter, and eventually Art-Net/DMX control. And a little teaser: An integrated version, with the DAC and both USB+IDN connectivity in a single box (also able to be mounted inside projectors) is in fact in the works. But no release date yet.

That's nice that you are giving support for other for IDN. Does your IDN driver support DMX out or just ILDA out right now? Not sure what to make of the last part of your post.

Right now it is just regular output, haven't implemented the DMX features of IDN yet.

As for the last paragraph, that was about the actual DAC/adapter this thread was originally about. It is not directly related to the client library I was talking about above. There are several ways this device could implement DMX, both through the DMX functionality built into IDN, but also traditional network DMX protocols like Art-Net, but right now it doesn't support either.
