The picture you posted looks slightly off. The 12 points that make up the circle look like they are in a diamond arrangement in your picture, but they should form a 12-sided regular polygon (a dodecagon). Not sure what's going on there...

I will look for the point files or the frame for this test pattern and check that as well.
The .zip file on the ILDA website (linked above) that contains the laser test frames includes a copy of the lasermedia test pattern. If we can get you up and running with a free ILDA frame editor, you will be able to view those frames.

I did end up getting another board (with motors), and somehow setting the pots to the resistances on the new board resulted in very poor performance compared to what I've been able to tune with just the function generator
Yeah, the settings for all of the pots are going to be unique to each amplifier/galvo set. You're compensating for a whole slew of variables with those pots, and small differences in manufacturing will mean different adjustments will be required.

However, with regard to the pots that are normally NOT adjusted during tuning, if you can get those pots on the original set re-adjusted to be somewhat close to the other set (which, presumably, still has those pots set correctly from the factory), then you can re-tune the original set and feel reasonably comfortable that those other pot settings are not throwing you off.

I am in the MN Twin Cities area. It would be super awesome if there's someone out there with more experience and the right tools for this purpose.
Brrrr! You live in the great white north. (And I say that as someone who grew up in Wisconsin, literally on the shore of Lake Michigan!) Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any PhotonLexicon members who live nearby. Perhaps the closest person would be Adam Bourassa in Lake Geneva, WI. (He goes by 300evil here on the forum.) There are several members in Michigan, and a few more in Illinois, but I can't think of anyone in Minnesota or western Wisconsin. (Bummer.)

once I've tuned the motors, and I get a perfect square and circle (using the function generator), over the course of 30-45min, one corner of the square will start skewing outwards, and the scale on the x-axis will increase over time.
This does not sound like a tuning problem. This sounds like a component that is heating up and changing it's resistance over time, which is not normal. (And could be a sign of an impending failure.)

I'll have to defer to Steve on this one, as I have no idea how to troubleshoot a problem like this.
