We're all getting older. And I have to admit that it feels weird being the same age as "old people" now.
Sorry for the delay in updating the sign-up thread. I posed it right before heading off to the UKLEM (which was a blast!), but on the way home I got stuck in the Philadelphia airport and had to spend the night there because of flight cancellations. When I finally flew out the next morning I had just enough time to run home, swap my bags, and zoom back to the airport to catch a flight to Texas for work. Ugh. Got back on Friday and was completely spent, which is why the thread has only just now been updated.
Chris: I will be bringing my VR rig as well, along with my DJI FPV. I have a couple sets of the yellow plastic discs we used to use to mark out a drone course back in Newton, so I'll bring those as well. I feel pretty confident that the field where David Kumpula launched his Paramotor rig will be large enough for us to set up a small drone course for some good-natured racing.
According to the DJI website, their digital flight control and video systems will function with up to 8 separate pilots operating in the same space, so if anyone else has a drone they'd like to bring, please feel free. If we end up with more than 8 pilots, we can always take turns. Also, the limit of 8 simultaneous pilots only applies to the DJI digital video system. The older analog video systems have lots more channels, so if anyone is still flying one of those rigs, they shouldn't have any problems. Granted, I've never actually tested analog and digital video feeds together, so there's a chance that there could be some interference, but with nearly 40 channels to choose from (on the analog side) I don't think it will be a major issue.
