Looks like there is a damping problem on the vertical galvo. 1st thought is to check the connections between the galvo and driver to ensure there's feedback.
Did this suddenly happen, without rhyme nor reason, after the projector had been jostled around, or after giving the galvos a long thrashing with large images? If the latter, then you may have a blown amp on the driver board.
I'm assuming that the trim pots on the driver board hasn't been messed with.
    Hope this helps.

Would a bird's mating song be more alluring if composed by human intellect? 🤔

No, the trim pots haven't been adjusted yet. The laser has had this problem for a while, but I thought it was the ILDA cable...
Now I've connected the FB3 DAC without the cable, and the problem persists.
And the laser never actually runs at 100% XY, always smaller.

What's the best way to check for feedback?

    Thanks in advance,

Best to not mess with the driver's trim pots. They are fine tuned from the factory and wouldn't detune on their own. Only experienced techs should attempt adjusting them.
It's good that the galvos haven't been driven too hard which makes a blown driver less likely, but not impossible. Prolonged use of sawtooth, square waves, & imagery with radical movements can also create stress and/or overheating.
Which model of galvos are inside your projector?
The FB3 test confirms that the problem is either the galvo, driver, or their connecting cable, most likely at the connector(s).
Have you been inside the projector at all?
Best place to start is by carefully wiggling both connectors at the galvo & its driver, without power applied. It could easily be just a loose connection or a broken connection between the cable and one of the pins inside one connector.
Depending upon physical positioning for access, the feedback would be checked by inserting an oscilloscope probe into the back of the connector (smaller paper clip wire usually required) that's plugged into the driver board to check the signals on each pin, while running the test pattern.
Difficult to troubleshoot further without schematics.

After moving the cables back and forth a bit I get the following result:

Most commercial laser software is ILDA frame based for animated line graphics 🤮 and kazillion beam stage productions, with little focus on projected abstracts (the heart of the original art, IMO).
I'm a retired Laserium laserist, only interested in creating, playing, and recording videos of abstract visual music, very similar to Swamidog's YT videos with the Radiator.
So I've been developing my own uniquely original, MIDI controlled (Teensy) T4 Laser Synth with onboard C++ firmware, which can also playback and manipulate 3D ILDA frames with synth waveforms.
    I'm using Reaper's DAW for a timeline, with Behringer's X-Touch Universal, Extender, & Akai APC40 mkii controllers.
Just putting the final touches on the 3rd PCB to include an ILDA input for ADC from any 3rd party software's ILDA DAC to integrate both.
At that point, I'll use Liberation software + Etherdream 3 ILDA DAC (previously used with LSX).
But, since you own a proprietary FB3, you're already on Pangolin's software path.
As Rush sings, "I will choose free will."
