Or you could combine 2 660 diodes with one PBS cube, combine 2 other 635 diodes with a second PBS cube, and then mix the two red beams with a single dichro. Either way will work, and yeah, you'd end up with a lot more red that way.

I was thinking of this before! But I thought it couldnt be done!
SO you are saying Buffo: it can be done with 2 660nm (V/H) diodes with one PBS cube and 2 others 635nm (V/H) diodes with a second PBS cube then combine them with a dichro thats reflect 660nm, pass 635nm dichro ?
    Thats sounds really great!!

I think dave from lasershowparts was wanting to find a dichro that would do it. Didn't someone say arctos or something was trying it? or maybe it was something yadda said...

    Cool

Yeah, several people were looking into sources for the custom dichro you need. That's the only sticking point - you gotta have at least one dichro to mix the resulting 660 nm and 635 nm beams.

Never heard any feedback on cost or availability of the dichro, but it shouldn't be that difficult. Physics is on our side on this one; you've got 25 nm between the two beams... That's more than enough tolerance for a dichro.

    Stupid question time..
Why can you not combine 2 randomly polarized beams of the same wavelength into a non polarized BS cube?

I presume the B/S would work as intended and split the 2 incoming beams.

Using it as a combiner and not a splitter?

    Default PS variation

This is a dual-topic thread sorry--
    This is:
A variation to the previous design. Everyone please feel free to point out design flaws/ errors (before I start ordering parts.. )
