Default 1W 532nm DPSS module: The Battle

Well.. I have to choose now.

I have contacted several different China laser-manufacturers and have to make my decision now.

    Viasho
    Beam Quality: < 1.2
    Beam divergence: 1.2-2.0
    Beam diameter: 2.0-3.0 mm
    Modulation : 30Khz TTL / 10Khz Analog
    Least expensive

    Rumzing
    Beam Quality: < 1.8
    Beam divergence: <1.2mrad
    Beam diameter: <2.2mm
    Modulation: 30Khz TTL / 15Khz Analog

    CNI Laser
    Beam Quality: < 2.0
    Beam divergence: < 2.0 mrad
    Beam diameter: +- 3.0 mm
    Modulation: 10Khz Analog
    Most expensive

I found some posts about the different manufacturers on the forums, but maybe this list of specifications and price indications can have influence?

laser show parts sells a cni 1watt for approximately $2,358us.
    http://www.lasershowparts.com/store/...d&productId=43
their price is in australian dollars which were worth.85 in u.s. dollars when i bought a couple of months ago.
    check for current exchange rate.
i'm curious if that price is lower than what you found.

    also,they list divergence as 1.5mrad.

what i have found with my cni,and others here also confirm,is that the cni units from laser show parts consistently come in WELL over spec in output.

    peace,
    wes

    Hi Wes,

Thanks for your post. I'm not sure what the shippingcosts are to the Netherlands with Lasershowparts, and if they put the complete value at the package (that means I have to pay another few hundred euros for the customs).

    But... the price is good!

you can pm dave(just dave, not dave with numbers after his name) who is a member here.
he and aijii run laser show parts.
that makes the level of pre sale customer service very high.
he can answer all your questions i'm sure.

i think they sell vaisho too, so no matter what you choose, maybe check their price first.

I bought a pair of 1watt Viasho DPSS 532's, one spits out 1250mW and the other just over 1300mW.
I would rather they didn't have fans on the heads, but other than that I'm very pleased with them.

The only issue is the price of >1watt of blue to compliment a watt of green

Thanks for the replies. I've had contact with David from Lasershowparts, and the service is really nice. However, he sells the CNI and Viasho 1000mw diodes for the same price. I think he has another model from Viasho then I was looking for (price I have for the Viasho 1000mw is about 400 euros lower then when I buy from David, price for CNI is about the same as with David).

    So I think it'll be a Viasho 1000mw.

Unfortunately, you will find that 1w from laser century was purchased as a 800mw from CNI, and same with the blue by the sounds of it. CNI usually supply lasers with much higher over powers than 30-40mw!!!

I have a client that might be able to make use of an OEM pre-combined RGB DPSS unit out of China.
We haven't had anything to do with laser century since we started dealing with CNI directly about a year and a half ago. CNI are most certainly the manufacturer, people like Laser Century, Dream Lasers, etc are merely resellers..

Regarding the pre combined units, if they are as good as the other products from CNI, they will be good, but we haven't ever bothered, as people want to do it themselves. We might have another, better, non Chinese option available soon, Im just waiting on some prices..
