Sometimes,I play lasershow for large scale stage performence, and the projector is far away from my control desk.

So I want to know what the max. length of ILDA cable is.

    Who can help me?

If the cable has twisted pairs, and you're using balanced line drivers and receivers, you should be able to get 100 yards, maybe a lot more. Over 250 yards, it might be better to digitise the signals and convert back at the far end.

If you have excess cable, don't leave it on the roll, lay it as a large loose bight out of the way somewhere. That reduces inductance, which improves the signalling.

    Default QM2000.net

Hi Frank, there are three optional ways to add network capabilities to a QM2000.

a, 1U 19" complete enclosure with everything enclosed in one housing.
This way is the best for somone with limited electronic experience who wants an almost plug and play system. These cost approx 500USD

b, Smaller small book sized box with external power transformer.
This option is very compact but having another external power adapter adds problems. No idea what these cost, we didnt have a lot of interest due to the external power supply.

    c, OEM network daughterboard.
This is the option we use due to the flixability in choosing an enclosure that fits our needs better, you need to also buy a power supply and also need some mountings for the qm2000 board. These cost 300USD.

Some issues are older Qm2000 cards need a firmware update to be able to use on the network and that means sending your card back to be firmware updated, all new QM2000 cards already have the upgrade.

We designed our own 1U boxes to mount everything neatly and in a practicle way. We can supply everything needed even complete enclosures. Attached some photots of our early prototype boxes.
