Default This week I will be mostly building an RGB

Just thought I would share my fun and games with you.

Decided to go the whole hog and build an RGB.

    So far I have:

    300mw 532nm CNI
    200mw 473nm CNI
    350mw 635nm Lasever
    and a bunch of optics

Being 635nm the red is a touch divergent, but it will be replaced in time with a tighter, darker red. Obviously this means more power and more cost, but will get one in the end.

Next step is to install my Laserworld 45k scanners and poly 20 diffraction wheel kit.

In the meantime, here's some pics to whet your appetites:

Watch this space, more pics as and when:

The only thing I lost was a clean credit card... The blue nailed it a bit.

In a previous life it was an RGY, so I already have the enclosure built. Although P1t8ull has just been round with his measuring stick and we have noticed that the all singing all dancing blue dichro is loosing me a lot of green, almost 100mw is being lost in transit. So will have to get that replaced.

Just waiting for the FB3 and beamtable control to arrive, then the fun begins.

Here you can see the red diverging nicely But none the less, very white in the middle. Once the beams are moving, should look fine...

It looks a bit pink in that last picture, which it isn't in real life.

It's actually a really crisp "ice" white due to being strong in the blue, which is not a problem that you usually hear about

Can't wait to see it in scanner action

Do have a picture of the beam hitting the wall at say... 15-20 feet? I would like to get a better idea of how much those Lasever reds diverge, I've been thinking about adding one to my setup.
