Naaa. I don't think we'll have to go that far. At least I hope not! As far as I am concerned, lawyers are a tool of last resort!!

President Ronald Reagan used to talk about trusting the judgement of the American people. Even though there are people from many more countries than America here on PL, I trust the judgement of all of you. You are all smart enough to see who is genuine and who is not, and smart enough to tell which products are great (and original) and which ones are not...

    Best regards,

    William Benner

My five cents for these topic...

In this situation I will talk not as "competitor", but as "colleague" of Pangolin

Six years ago when we have done our first version of PCI boards Bill ask us "HHmmm" too
    (look please here )
Next time we had discussion again

Of course, all developers are oriented to leader (in this case - to Pangolin). It was earlier, it is forever.
We looked Pangolin's board; of course it was as example to us too. But we had "hard" argument - our system was based on absolutely different structure (FPGA instead of microprocessor)

I looked FB3 board first time yesterday.
Our MultiBus board have similar functionality, but these boards looked absolutely different! and have absolutely different components!

Where is "own" product - and where is "copy"?
When I looked photo from Bill - sorry lasermame - my opinion - it is "clone" of QM2000.
Even if manufacturer will paint board in red color instead of blue - it will clone too!

As developer I can agree: for developers sometime is more interest not "result", but "process"
But I not understand, what will do producer with this controller?
Laser show area is very little: look please parallel topic : it can be surprised, but only ten-twenty companies in world produce controllers for laser show. So, lasermame have done developing, which can be point only for little area of friend, not more... if not wanted to have problems

    Why I written this post?
I want support here not Pangolin only, but "developing process" as whole.
I not want to see clones of our products!!!
I recommend for all developers do not look any other products, and will not have confuses and violations of copyrights

I'd be careful using the words "candela" on anything you export to the US, Candela medical is really big and probably very itchy about their trademark.
