No, you would need internet. Does anyone know how to start a conference in AIM 6? If so, we could all have a conference sometime over AIM.

That'd be neat. Would probably be better to have something embedded in the web site so that folks wouldn't have to download AIM or MSN or whatever. Though it kinda defeats the purpose of the forum a bit I think.

Yea, I'd say a web based one for those who can partisipate from work but cannot install anything... There does seem to be someone on at all times.

I could write one, I've written one in Java and Javascript but that woudl mean installing my chat server...probably not an option.......I could write one in ajax/html/PHP quite easily...

Also being as the server already runs PHP I guess on Apahe/Linux I could easly instll the chat program....Would have to tweek it a bit as it's ad hocked ino another site at the moe.

Edit....just to entice you (the baord owner) it can have unlimited number of chat rooms, users can create there own chat rooms, user can open private chat rooms with one on one (pvt) and you can send smileis What more could you ask for..

I just bought a usb-modem for the S/L (RJ-11) phone to hook up to the pc at work and my local isp says that I have 30 hours dial-up time included with my home DSL, so I might be able to get something going.. alltho will be excruciatingly slo .. but get past the man hehe
