ALL That, I cant wait to see what you could do with a multitrack system. for single track 8 bit, that was cool, you have a future in the beamshow biz.

its back in, but you need a song that tells a story or people know how to sing along to. You need to hook your audience. There is more to it then putting up a series of graphics. We gotta find the story.
Ok one of my favorites comes with pangolin now, its This Kiss, by Faith Hill, It was done by LFI for their company presidents wedding. They pulled out all the stops on the graphics for obvious reasons.
plot
Girl meets guy
walk on the beach
diery opens, xxx loves yyy scrolled in to book
Girl transforms into cinderella
guy transforms into prince.
lotsa waltzing and other dancing
guy pops out ring
wedding happens,
lotsa three D wedding cakes. spinning around
happily ride off into teh sunset on big horse.
yeah its a chick flick, and thats the selling point, it hooks the audience emotions and tells a story.
Those at FLEM saw the avi planetairium show with the owl as the narrator, it told a greek legend with humor in the drawings. Thats the sort of effect you want to achive.
OK easy one to imagine, although your gonna cringe at the country music,
Some right wing American Idle bubblehead sings this, but it gets a lot of airplay here in the midwest, even on rock stations.
"Right now he's probably slow dancing with a bleach blond tramp,
and she's probably getting frisky...
right now, he's probably buying her some fruity little drink cause she can't shoot whiskey...
Right now, she's probably up singing some
white-trash version of Shania karoke..
Right now, she's probably saying "I'm drunk"
and he's a thinking that he's gonna get lucky,
Right now, he's probably dabbing on 3 dollars worth of that bathroom polo...
And he don't know..."
But the chorus is (and they repeat it about 8 times in the song)
"That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seats...
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires...
Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats"
you can see the show in your mind, image of guy in bar hitting on slutty chick, while the images segway outside the bar to this angry classy lady dressed in a business suit and skirt (with hints of being mom), holding a hammer, zooming down to the image of her right leg and the bottom of the skirt below headlight height, and you see the slegehammer coming into view smaking the shattering glass., Then you draw the image of a lipstick pen slashing like "Amy" into a seat. Ok thats the AVI, LFI, Aura, LSDI style of telling a story in laser and it sells. Most graphics shows that come with Pangolin are like that.
It tells a story, hooks your emotions, good mental imagery, I mean how many times have you met a POed good looking girl telling the world about a guy you know is a bum dumping her for something easy. I work at a university, I hear it every day walking by tables in the student union.
people will watch that, its human interest. Guys will like it tooo, I mean I've dated many vengeful chicks and we all cringe (males that is) about the girl you know who would scratch the paint and your eyes out.
Its a bit easier if your doing floyd or rush, where the album images are there, the movie the wall is there, and the you can use the album logos, but xmas is special.
If all we do is images of xmas synced to music without a story, we have failed. Thats video eye candy and outside of the club bunch, or drunks or stoners, or laserists, people watch it for 2 or 3 minutes and walk on. I'm after a more suave audience. Dont get me wrong, I'll watch good video art for a hour or so on artistic merit. Keep in mind my idea of new years eve two years ago was a 150 by 450 foot building side and seven watts as a freebie show for the downtown family new years party for 20K people. Soem I want to do a useful thing for a broad audience. But if you guys want to do a living room only thing...... I'm still in.
But we need a story to tell.
Buffo, can you make up a little video of cow wars for those who havent seen it? (we'll ask Bill for permission)

bill had posted this a while ago and he say the whole show is run by the qm2000 i think via dmx
Wierd Al has a song called "I AM SANTA CLAUS" based on Ozzy/sabbaths Iron man I think..
It was Bob Rivers - I am Santa Clause, from Twisted Radio.. VERY Funny song, But, would be very graphic heavy me thinks.... It tells a very specific story... Abstract could handle some of it, but , all abstract, might be a bit boring... How about the Sugar plum fairy song??? Wizzards is a good one Steve...!!! Xmas canon is ok too...
CREATIVITY AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT!

never heard thatone..i dont think..
how /bout 'walkin'round in womens underwear- to the tune of 'Winter- wonderland?.. This guy I work with gave me a really weird xmas cd a few years back.. If I could post it i would..absolutely hilarious...
Try Tube Download from youtomato.com for the flv vids
Then use SUPER from erightsoft to encode away from the flv format.
take a look at this folks, although I doubt any of us have 3DstudioMax.
Its a good idea of how a few simple animations and some abstracts = winner.
