    Default oh no....help!

well it looks like i may have toasted one of my galvo amps .

i was running live quick and ramped up scan rate insted of anim speed!!
then came "clacking" sound from the galvos. i turned off the projector as fast as i could, then stopped live q. turned on the amps again, "click click" as the galvos went to central position. but one didnt. y galvo had moved round to max dead stop, no noises but i could turn the y mirror with my fingertip. when i let go it goes round to dead stop again. then i loaded live q again and ran a random frame and the "clacking" noise was back. i thought i`d knackerd the galvo but i sent the x amp feed to the noisy galvo(y) and it was fine. so i can only asume my y amp is toast

    are they easy to test/repair?
can i buy a replacement (just one amp)?
    how much are they?
(i know what your thinking(i dont know what setup you have))
i dont know either. i bought them off paul(lasermad)
i think there the same as the ones that carmangary sells.

please advise guys. it makes me feel a bit ill.
    cheers.
    scoot.

Probably an FB3. I haven't had any problems as LiveQ can only do up to 30kpps. LA Studio can do 80kpps.

ahh, nice one paul. very happy with them by the way.

    controller?

i was running thru the fb3 dac and live quick.

if you mean which amp then its the y amp.

what part/s would you like me to send?

as for what caused the blow..... after first setting it all up and loading live q it all worked fine until i moved the wrong slider(scan rate not anim rate) and that was it realy. i`ve looked at the board and cant see any obvious signs of component damage.
again cheers for your kind offer!

    Question

Have you swapped all the wiring around to make sure it isn't just a bad connection between amp and galvo or ilda plug and amp?

It is this whole lack of work thing at my job... There's just nothing to do... not that I mind. I get paid well to post BS this way.
