Be careful - you get what you pay for with stands. We bought a cheap stand, and curse it every time we use it....

I would always recomend powerdrive wind ups, cost a bit more, but will last a lifetime,

Also, they do a compact range, with a minimum hight around 1.3m i think, this is a real help if trying to lift a big old RGB onto it!!

The cheap stands arnt cost effective if your pride and joy laser falls to the ground.

    thats just my 2 cents

    gotta be careful with those!!!

if you are doing beam targeting i WOULD NOT use a stand like this! (TRUST ME!! ) been there, done that...wouldnt do it again! too much vibrations and not very sturdy. it only took about 10 minutes before my 45 minutes of aiming became out of whack! GRRR!!!! lol. especially if youre projecting relatively longer distances. if youre doing closer up graphics, they may work ok.

The PowerDrive stands are rock solid. O.K., so they're a bit more expensive than others, but there's no chance of them being knocked over even when it's fully extended to 3.5 mtrs.

Think about it, your projector has cost a whole load of money, do you really want to save few quid on a stand that's not up to the job? It was Andy at AC Lasers that recommended this stand to me and believe me they are GOOD !

I'll be bringing it to the next UK meet again, so if you can wait until then...

I use 2 stands with cranks and never had any problems with them. Well they are not cheap. About 400$ each. (4meter lift I think) I have no idea who makes them but they are very heavy (50 meter run with one in each hand - have to take 2 short breaks) and very stable. So I guess don't waist your money on cheap stuff. Get a good ones.

PS. Mine look very similar to of mypowerdrive.
I hired an Italian guy to do my wires. Now they look like spaghetti!
