(cant tell if u took the pics or they are someones stock photos)
I just took the pics just now with my logitech cheap-o webcam
(I had to light up a cigarette in the house - a no-no- for the beam- shots)

-edit- dont it look purdy blue like a 488 argon? oh - it's the cameras fault, well... i didnt color correct..

Unit will run off of power board at 3.2VDC 1.08A
It looks pretty good at 2.0V at 630 mA-- maybe I'll run it at that and get a few more hours out of it... Thanks You-all--

PS--Why not run it analog--does it have some circuitry built into the head?

some of the earlier diodes didnt like analog. and before that some even earlier diodes didnt like TTL at all

630mA?? Mine uses <500mA to get 50mw. 1.08 Amp is the max rating of the p/s, not what you should be running it at! I'm curious to know how many mw you are getting out of the laser at 630mA though.

Edited--///- 'cause its late and I dont know what I posted--it sucks I cant talk to you all from work anymore

It has a nice beam. It has TTL mod but I discarded the power supply it came with and am using a die4drive board for analog modulation now. Screw holes are for 4mm machine screws. Case is positive so don't ground it.

Yes it does have a nice beam quality.
Thanks for the info Carm-- And Everyone!!
    Have a good evening/ nitey
    Happy laserdreamz--

    Red face

Mine jellybeans pretty bad. I'm kinda worried now. I have had one of these running for at least 100 hours if not more. Sorry Steve, I don't know which.

carmangary, which jumpers are set on your die4driver?

Yea, I am also wondering why it would have trouble with analog modulation or low power. Seems like if it can handle TTL slamming it on and off it could handle analog. Could it have been due to a poorly designed p/s/modulator circuit?

I'm interested what LaserShowParts has to say about these since they sell them and certainly would have received feedback from people who had them die or go bad.

OK WTF is 'jelly-beaning' - mode hopping or mW disfunction???
Somebody please explain to me Is this a new term or something from the old gas daze?? I've never heard it back then..
