    Well, I know an engineer who worked on these systems for coherent. I just got off the phone with him. He said that these units take about 10 minutes to warm up/emit from the time you turn the key.

    Yep, I really do hope the delay is the only problem with it. I believe this is holographic quality??? Any one know the size of a Coherent Compass 532? Because this is the same size.

    I'm assuming they didn't give it enough time to turn on. The laser was probably cold from storage and takes a while to warm up before the controller gives power to the diode. Then again they might not have had the correct interlock.
