    Default Collimating out of a Fiber...

    So how would one go about collimating 629nm out of a 800uM fiber? What lenses would I need, I know that the beam will be quite large, but when in the watt range that'll do.

    800 µm?? In days of yore that there thinger be called a Blunderbuss.
    Try a big fat achromat with a long focal length and don't expect a narrow or low divergence beam. I think you might almost have an easier time getting a collimated beam out of a Luxeon RB100 LED. What comes out of that fibre will probably be equally incoherent and randomly polarised.

    Think big red 3W 629nm... It's a 800uM fiber coupled bar, they got it to a 15mm 4 mRad.

    The clue was in my answer. It's going to lose all polarisation and original beam shape. It won't lose all coherence but it will be a beam you won't need anything other than a round lens for. I don't know the detailed calculation for the best type of lens but you already know it's a 15 mm beam, and a 0.8 mm emitter. Try sending it through the back end of a 35mm camera lens. You might do better (aspheric lens) but you can do plenty worse.
