Default JDSU Micro Blue lasers! Help Needed!!!

I have 2 JDSU micro blue lasers with 2 power supplies. I know that they match, but dunno how to figure our which is which! The lasers are both prototypes and one of the power supplies is a prototype. Any hints on how to deal with this would be great!

Are they both the same o/p power rating?
If so they will likely have the same power rated pump diode.

Is there a photodetector on the o/p for closed loop brightness control?
If there is the following would be dangerous so do not try. If not...

Assuming the same pinout of the head and the same Peltiers and thermistors used for TE control then the only difference will be the temperature settpoints of the pump diode TEC and the Crystal TEC.

If they are electrically the same then you should be able to mix and match and then go with the combination which gives greatest o/p power after a 5 minute warm-up.

Lasers and beer don't mix. After 2 beers I lose coherence.

Get ahold of sam goldwasser @ laserfaq.org, or use the newsgroup alt.lasers
and ask him there, he knows the micro series inside and out and can properly answer your questions.

These make 4 in the non UV range. 5 if you want to count the dead Maxyz 405nm module.

The diode died. Went to an LED failure mode. It was being driven at the max power or even over it and it's life ran out!

    Edit!

The lasers are awesome! Both work and they put out well over the rated power! The power supplies had the calibration chip in it with the serial number of the head. Now I just need to make a good cable as I have like 4 halves of the cables.

The FAQ says you can control them with RS232. How do I do this? I know it's a serial port, but once I plug it in, what do I do?

    Regards,
    Ben
