    Default Kaidomain Green 50mW $25

Took a chance and ordered a 50mW green pointer. Cost just $25 (£12.50)

Came today (a week in post from HK). Seems to be chucking out a good healthy 50mW indeed. Won't take it to bits so can't comment on the driver but happy with it at that price.

I'm not sure if the focusing could be better or it is deliberately set at around 6 inches to burn. I'll pop another lens in front of it later to see what happens.

    Have you measured the power?
It says <50mW I expect that includes IR too.

No meter Jim but it 'looks' 50mW compared to the LaserWorld 250mW. Just took picture of it with an IR filter on camera and no noticeable attenuation so if that is a test then yes it seems fine.

Also I smoked the room now it's getting dark and the beam is very tight indeed. It was just the splatter of the 'blob' that I was looking at.

Realistically I don't expect it to last long but for £12.50 I'm happy.

I'll order another one to take to bits to see what can be done with it.

BTW - Has anyone got details for a DIY meter?

Thanks, saw one on ebay today. Item:- 230191721167 but when I looked up M-830B all I can find is a bog standard muliti meter so left it. Probably one someone has just stuck a photo-sensor in so I wouldn't like to chance the accuracy.

If anyone wants a bash it's currently at £9.99
