first 124 mirrors use mirror mounts with a a set screw second the 124's are mounted backwards and from what i can tell the mount wouldn't work if you flipped the scanner in the correct orientation

I'm coming in from the left and exiting front (yeah, backwards ) but there's a few who do it this way, we're just 'different'

    Default G-124 Mount

Here's a pic of my 124's using the optical posts & clamps to create an x-y mount.

Oh, I see. Here's one of my galvos (Steve Roberts was kind enough to give them to me)
The small shaft is so tiny..looks about 1/8" dia. I dont think I could get a mirror on that (unless I order more parts) - I think I'll try my original idea and epoxy the mirrors on the larger shaft.. hope that'll work. Theyre just 2 wire open loop type. I'm using very small mirrors. I could reverse the wires if theyre's polarity problems hopefully.

<edit> You posted before I could get this on in...
I see what you're doing.. well I still may try the large shaft. You think it'll work?

    Steve,

I don't think there's a choice here - you'll need a pair of mirror mounts for the 124's, homebrew or otherwise. If you're looking for a source, LSDI in Orlando may still have these for sale (nice folks & great support!).

Ok, so its a geometry thing; the mirror on the radius of the shaft vs the center..

No, it's a "that end clamped in position by a grub screw and will not move" thing

The long shaft that you want to stick the mirror on is the stationary torsion bar sleve, the small shaft at the other end is the one that wiggles. You'll need a pair of G120/124 mirror mounts with pinch screws to make life easy.
