Not to be rude, but the specs you listed don't add up. You say it has a 3 1/2 display so that means one of the numbers is wither 5 or 0. That means that it has 5mW resolution not 1mW as you claim.

I was thinking it might only go up to 1.999
Although the LEDs exist for it to go higher than that (you can see the 0 outline where the 'ones' number exist) but the actual circuitry might be the limiting factor here... Just a thought.
well.. 3.1/2 display = 0.000 (ex:and 4.1/2display = 0.0000)
Just like a multimeter LED
If the lasers is less than 1 Watt, it displays ex: 195mW, not 0.195mW.
If it has a 5mW resolution, it would diplay the same laser as a 200mw.
This laser powermeter has an 1mW resolution and it display 195mW laser as a 195mW

if there is an innacuaracy in the spec I guess its that it says it will measure 2W when it will only measure 1.999W due to its 3 1/2 digits - though this could be made more accurate by stating it measures up to 2W

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.
