    Default 6x blu ray GB feeler

    ok so the chinese new year is over and i was able to contact my supplier about some pricing on these. the laser assembly comes from the LG GGW-H20L and has a diode that should output ~175-200mw of violet laser light. the best prices they will give me are listed below. this is NOT a GB at this point only an interest gauge for interested parties. remember if this turns into a GB it may take a while to happen anyway. any interested parties can post here. please dont pm me about this as its not a real GB yet. if your interested just post here and if needed i can pm you.

    10pcs= 60$ each
    50pcs=59$ each
    100pcs=57$ each

    these prices will include shipping and costs for packaging. ill keep trying to talk the supplier down a bit but at this point i dont think they will go down much if any. this will be a TRUE GB in the fact that i will make virtually nothing off the sales especially after paypal fees. only paypal will be accepted. remember please dont pm me about this yet just post here if your interested.

    I take it that these prices are just for the bare diodes, correct?

    Sadly I don't have the knowledge to be able to build a working unit. However, should anyone decide to sell working units with analogue modulation that you can just plug in and they'll work... ... well, just let me know and i'm interested

    Are these easily combinable (polarised) to get double the power by using a PBS?

    the prices are just for the sleds themselves. i forgot to calculate for shipping costs but hopefully that wont increase the price much, especially if we can get more than 20 ordered. you should be able to use drlavas flexmod driver? for analog/ttl modulation if you want to build a working unit. these sleds are just like other BR diodes except for the fact they run at a higher CW rating. give me until tomorrow/later today(its 2:54am here). im going to email the supplier now to see how much the shipping costs will be..(from them to me, the shipping costs from me to you have alreadt been calculated for the most part except maybe intl orders may be a little more)

    Interesting indeed.

    let us know the when the GB is on the role and count me in for atleast 1.
    (to begin and test with)

    im sure that if these work in the same standard and quality as the PHR diodes and can be overdriven alot of ppl will buy more then just 1. Atleast i know i will.

    cheers.

    these cant be overdriven like the phr but some of the folks at the other forum i attend get ~200mw from them. from a 4x diode at 150ma i got 141mw.

    So we're talking about ~$60 for around 200 mw of 405, eh? Even when you figure in the cost of a driver, a mount, and a lens, that's still cheap.

    I'd be interested in one for sure - possibly 2.

    I really don't mean to hijack this or anything, but I get my diodes from this store: http://www.lasersurplusparts.com/ind...1b297d1be007ba
    The price doesn't include shipping, but they are nearly always in stock, and you can order any quantity.

    just got the email back from the supplier. for 10 pcs it would raise the price 2.6$, for 50pcs would raise .75$, and 100pcs would raise the price .42$. seems highoctane does have cheaper prices which means he orders in much larger quantities than 100pcs. this was just a feeler anyway so no harm done. if we can get quite a few ordered it may come out cheaper than that with shipping but if theres not enough interest or patience to wait then....

    I will want to get at least one...maybe 2. I can provide a module housing like I did for the red lasers....might be able to build a few with some help.....kindof short on time these days....

    I'd like to add in that these sleds ALSO contain a powerful red diode. It will do 150mW forever, and can be driven as high as 250mW with a pretty short life.

    So you're really getting two nice diodes from one sled, it's definitely a good deal. I had a 6x blu-ray last at 200mW (after optics) for a very very very long time.
