Exclamation Anybody know who did this gig???

Faaaarrrggg-aroni and cheese!!! Check this Co's rave-show out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSnsTZw80iU what an amazing design!! (PS - lasers don't come in till about 0:56, and don't really get kicking till about 2:40, so be patient - but it is worth it!!! WOW...) Only crit would be it is a LOT of 532 in there (though after seeing the promo video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_XlB...eature=related if you were there, I don't think you'd CARE! - que tetas! putchica!) if they could only have had all RGB DPSS' in the 'ring' there, it would have been ULTIMATE, but I can't even imagine what the budget was like on THIS set-up, let alone if they had all been RGBs...The video watermark seems to implicate this co: http://www.laser-image.nl/ but it does not seem to me much of a showco - then again, after doing a killer gig like this, all you'd need would be a single page like this with a link to this video, right??!!...Only in AmsterDAMN!!! - I think it's time to learn Dutch! - j

I think it is this guy http://www.nrg.be/ (well, the guys' voice, anyway...

If you wanna get a real fast case of 'laser envy' check Hugo's gear list out - http://www.pixelscreen.be/ (have to scroll about half-way down, below the LI banner) - holy shiiiiiiinikee! I did a bit of homework emailing and a friend of a friend in the biz, says the 32 2W DPSS' they have are the ones he used in that Qlimax gig - Laser Quantums' Excels - http://www.laserquantum.com/products...table=products - and even for as more-than-2W as they look in the vid, I buy it cause we had a 1W in the shop for an install (doing 1.6W!) and the beam quality was SO amazing - there is real truth to the 'perception' of brightness being much more than just a factor of laser power - I have seen the 2W Excels kick a 3W Melles Griots' @$$ in a concert setting...we will likely be getting 3-4 of those in '08 (we currently use the bigger-brother to the Excel, the Elites, which do 3W (~4.5W) and 5W (~6.5W), but they are very pricey (but very, very stable and rock solid - NEVER a problem... I gotta say, I've seen a LOT of shows from some of the biggest Co's in the industry, and this guys werk is just plain SICK... http://www.3d69.be/pixelscreen/PICS/ (though I am not too keen on his pics in the section of "10W Green" - if in fact, those are 10W units, and they are in fact full-on face-scanning people with 10W, I don't care HOW spread-out or fast-moving those fans are, that's just plain WRONG and irresponsible, laws or no...) And they have a Jenoptik 15W fiber-fed (all DPSS), also a sick, sick system... ya know, that guy (well Laser Image) has got to EASILY have $5-700K+ in just lasers...ie: the Jenoptik is at LEAST a $150K system, even in Europe, I don't think it goes for less than $120K, and the 5W DPSS he lists (the 4W from RGB of Hungary are like $40K (~$45K dealer, in US) and the 2Ws are at least $25-30K - they have 8??!! - and the 10W Greens - 8 - and the 6W Greens - 12 - yeah, they've got some serious cash behind them...damn, must be nice... they must sell an awful lot of mushrooms!

Hey Mate - Excel 2W one-offs are about $12-13K (depending on exchange, cause they sell in GBPs, like £6500, but with I'd dare say the lowest divergence in their class in the market (and therefore, higher brightness) - and VERY high reliability - solid as a brick, and NO bloody cooling fans, all TE, etc - they'll outperform and outlast any Melles I've seen...) it is worth the extra quid for the piece of mind - a good ad for them would be like the ones for 'Maytag' washing machines, from years ago - ya' know, with the ever-bored repair man (cause they just never break! - for Pro-level work, where you might have a gig with $5-10K or more at-stake, they become your best friend- we ALWAYS brought one for 'back-up' (for Ion-laser gigs, in the days before DPSS WLs) and they have saved our @$$es more times than we can count (when the Client's power or water would crap-out, etc)... at least with the greenies, we could do SOMEthing, and they were so bright, the crowd was just as happy... anyhoo, HIGHLY recommend them, and since they are more on your 'side' than ours, you might even get a better price direct from them... - lemme know if you want to see more pix!... - peace, jon
