    Default Hi!

Yea, don't worry about Hayden he's a Timmy, he told me no one going is cool enough to warrant the presence of King Hayden.

However, I do plan on coming by. I'm just the graphic designer here at Pangolin but I am very interested in lasers and the unique effects they can create.

I look forward to meeting you guys.

Hello Ian! Welcome to PhotonLexicon. Glad to hear you'll be attending FLEM Mark II this Saturday. (PM sent, btw.)

Yeah, King Hayden decided it was more important to fly to Texas for a booty call than to hang out with a bunch of dudes... Erm, wait. Maybe he's got the right idea..?

Seriously though, it will be a great time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

In other news, I got in touch with Marconi, and he *will* be attending! He's got the flu, but he hopes to be better by Saturday. (Also, the reason we couldn't get in touch with him was because he was out of town and the area he was staying in had no cell phone coverage.) His back is doing better though, so no need for alarm folks!

And just a reminder, I won't have internet access for the rest of this week guys... So give me a call on my cell phone (843) 324-0735 if you've got questions.

Did you miss this thread, perhaps? The links are active, but the cameras aren't on because the event hasn't started yet. But it's all in place and has been tested several times. We will be live as soon as we get there and get the cameras turned on. (For that matter, they may go live for more "testing" between now and then, just to give you a taste of the shows we'll have.)

Wow! That's a long show. Looking forward to seeing it. I'm sure we'll have several RGB projectors that we can display it on! (Might have some folks fighting over who gets the honor of playing the show!)

Will this be a strict display only, or are you willing to release copies of the show to the group? Just curious...

Oh - you might want to bring a large hard drive as well... Plenty of pics and video to share. (For those of you that were at FLEM 1.5, the portable USB drive of mine that used to have ~52 gigs on it is now filled to nearly 300 gigs!)

Headphone collection sounds intriguing... All of mine are cheap crap you can buy at Radio Shack. The best pair I ever owned were an old set of Koss headphones from the very early 1980's. But even those were nothing compared to audiophile standards.

Ahh, young Ian is easily confused. What I actually told him was that I really wanted to be there with all of the outstanding FLEM folks. That is why I am inforcing the "pecking order" around here and making him go in my place.

Be nice to him guys Dont hand him and exposed live voltage, he might just grab it

Aaron, I think I'm the only one bringing home brew to this event. Hayden said he hasn't had time to do much bottling lately.

I'll have 2 gallons of Amber Wheat though. Should be interesting.

well i was thinking of selling copies of the show to planetariums to fund my projector... but i need to go back and replace some of the stuff i "recycled" from other shows... so as it is now its not sellable... so i dont see why i couldent share it with the group... plus it would be great to get feedback from other laser enthusiasts since this is my first full-length show...

as for "audiophile" stuff, i cant afford any of it (you wouldent believe the amount of money i have seen people spend!)

i build most of my equipment... the headphones are usually not the most expensive part for most people, its the amplifiers... i built mine from scratch tho... its based off a design called the Dynahi... i built it in a balanced configuration (i recabled all my headphones with mogami wire and in a balanced configuration) and in said configuration its refered to as a "Dynamight" or "Dynamite" depending on who you ask

    my dynamight:

it produces about 10 watts of audio per board.... so thats a 40 watt (headphone!) amplifier... it dissapates about 20 watts of heat per board (constantly since its totally class A biased)... so its about 80 watts of heat at all times! not counting the power supplies!

needless to say it gets very hot, but believe me, its really awesome..

although lately my electrostatic headphone/amp combo has been getting a lot of use... whats more fun that putting 500+v on your head?

i will bring my hitachi 1tb external for the pics/video etc
