Holy crap, I got the Melles Griot unit today. The shipper used WAY too much bubble wrap! The package had at a minimum a foot of buble wrap around it and then a inch or so of foam!

The laser is much larger then I expected! Power supply is the size of a Argon supply. Haven't tested it yet. That's for later!

Default Fuck Yes! This Thing Rocks!!!

This is THE best eBay purchase I have EVER made! Producing 437mW after a 30min warmup! I don't see a hour counter anywhere. But I would say this is new. Not a scuff and all seals are in place!

Sweet. you can connect with a serial cable and read all the stats ( and program the stuff if you really want but if it's doing that good I'd not touch a damn thing.)

What is the application for having a dual beam like that? Can they be combined? Would be great if the polarization is 90 deg different but probably not. Wasn;t there a trick with two mirrors to rotate polarization? In combination with a cube that could give better results than a collimator....

if i remember right there is a retro fit beam combiner that MG sold as an accessory. Pretty awesome if you can get them combined. I assume its pretty stable too... Awesome buy Ben.

AFAIK the beams are just split, same as the green MG here http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/mgdbl1.gif

the choice is to either lop off one beam or allow both or recombine them.

split beam is a artifact from the way certain laser manufacturers make thier crystal assemblies. Some of Viasho's lasers are the same way. CNI's are not.

How does the stock MG collimator work? I would assume it is a PBS and a 1/2 Wave plate. I would assume that it takes some adjustment once installed.
