However if your Not in the states, already have a major lighting business to capitalize off of, or possibly have a best friend as VP of Entertainment at Disney or other big, big, company. Or Heaven forbid, dont give a damn about the law or liability

if that is the case, laserman 532 has a pretty nice yag projector for sale
down in the for sale links.

    Hi Joe -

First off, welcome to PL, I am fairly new here myself...but I have been around for awhile on 'the scene' - being a 12+year vet of pro laser shows, I have experienced both the 'thrill of victory' (ie: $31K show for 30 min ) and the 'agony of defeat' (whitelight tube dying from rapidly-kinked/un-kinked hose AS THE PRESENTER STARTS THE SHOW; show opens to a house full of 800 execs...with a DARK SCREEN, DEAD CENTER and only back-up accessible in time is green-beams = ZERO MAIN GRAPHICS FOR OPENING!!! so I will be more than happy to chat with you (offline, for efficiencys' sake) about all aspects of 'The Biz'... (at least those that I have experienced!

While seasoned-pros like Laserman532 and MixedGas and many others, here, give the realistic viewpoint of speaking from experience (which is PRICELESS, as they say! I'd propose a sort of balanced pros = cons approach, and perhaps a 'soft-start'... ie: check this out:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330194900936

Now, before I get labeled a shameless 'capitalist' you should know there is really NOT much in this for me/us - we already got our nut out of it - other than doing 'due diligence' for the client of ours we said we'd help market it it for... the only reasons I recommend you might consider this 'package' are:

    - 1. it is COMPLETE - laser / projector / software / pc / mirrors, and I am sure with a little effort, you could find a decent / mod-able roadcase for it also on eBay (or here!!!
    - 2. it is SIMPLE - NO water, NO high-power, all 110V AC (granted, best on a pretty heavy-duty circuit ~30A for full-power operation) - lightweight, small, all self-contained, carryable under-arm, etc...
    - 3. it is CAPABLE, will do nice, 'mid-pro-level' graphics, and 'very-pro' beam fx/atmos, etc...
    - 4. BEST OF ALL - the guy IS willing to LEASE (though the caviat is that you WOULD have to have the POTENTIAL to buy it if something happens to it while in your care - you'd have to insure it somehow, with a loan or bond or CC of some sort - that would be between you guys to work out, but point is, while he DOES want to sell it, he IS open to a lease, and this would enable you to get your 'feet wet' with a pretty killer system, wihout having to 'jump all the way in' - you could even do a 'lease-to-own' if it takes off for you...
-5. RESALE - this unit would do very nicely in a small club - even if you outright bought it (but it IS a lot to lay out for a system; on the other-hand, pricing IS for the COMPLETE package, NOT just A laser) and in 3 months decided to go bigger or green DPSS, etc...I am SURE there are more club-install possibilities in Denver (??) than Rochester, NY!!

Anyhoo, just food for thought - happy to chat live anytime - 818.358.8716 - - and, 'no purchase required'! - peace..
