Buffo has posted the links in numerous other posts, but they might be a bit difficult to locate. Maybe do a search?

In any event, you can start with these links:

Do you have a link to the software that allows you to creates shows. Do you have something similar to Mamba Black that allows you to create a time line? I haven't seen any good software that allows easy synchronization of the music to the show. I'm interested in software that will allow me to listen to the song and add cues in real time and then go back and fill in the show to match the cues.

I haven't played with it much, but I think the Showrider software is for putting shows together with music. Really though, if you can "splurge", Showtime for the QM2K makes it super easy to put together a show. Which can be sync'd in so many ways, audio, video, SMPTE. Completely timeline based and you can add beat marks as well.

Do you have something similar to Mamba Black that allows you to create a time line?
I think its more correct to say that MB has something similar to Showtime, since Showtime has been around ALOT longer than MB. Often imitated, but not yet duplicated!

    Hi Gary,

At first, I was surprised by your question, since I thought that I had already replied to it above, with this link:
    http://www.pangolin.com/LA_Studio/Showrider.htm

But now that I have re-examined the content of the page, I can see that it is not perfectly clear that Showrider is indeed a timeline program. The short answer is YES, Showrider is just such a software.

Honestly, I am hoping that someone who uses LAStudio and who has also seen MB will make comments. I can certainly make comments, but they would obviously be biased. My own personal opinion is that LAStudio blows pretty much anything out of the water (including our LD2000 system in some regards).

And remember, we give LAStudio away FOR FREE to anyone who owns Pangolin hardware (whether QM2000 or FB3).

I wholehartedly agree with what DZ wrote about Showtime. It was the very first timeline for laser shows, developed starting in 1992 and released in 1995, before timelines were even popular for Video. We developed this independently -- without referring to Premiere, Avid, or anything else (which is why it has it's own unique spin).

And just wait 'til you see what we have coming out in 2008 (umm, I mean 2009)!!

    Best regards,

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Question there's something familiar about this....

    Hey DZ -

I really don't wanna play 'lasercop', and, by the looks of it, this is a 'struggling n00b' - I don't mean to 'hold anybody down', but it just really, really bugs me to see people rippin other-peoples' hard work off - I mean, if you've actually 'got it under the hood' - just do a little friggin' demo!!! - even if it's in your living room - at least YOU did it, ya know???

...Perfect example: Kudos to our dear own 'Gottaluvlasers' - ie: http://www.ctlasers.com/html/pixpage_38.html - OK, so it's not a shot from an 'Olympic Stadium show' - but who cares?!! He took the time to set up the system, program some stuff, and shoot some pix - and ya know what? It looks great!! I am sure any potential Client seeing those nice pix will not hesitate to call CT (whether or not there's a door knob in the shot!) and Marc can feel proud cause it's HIS WORK... , Bud!!

OK, ok, I'll shut up, now - sorry for the mini-rant - I wanted to share this find in case it was your (beautifully-shot, BTW... ) work, D...

Hey Jon, wow, you dug up a REALLY old thread! That particular abstract is not mine, and I recognized it as well. It belongs to AVI and is posted on thier web site. It can be found at this address: http://www.av-imagineering.com/laser_8.htm Good find Jon!
