Default Has anyone purchased these $10 clearance C-blocks in the past?

There is a clearance sale of SDL/JDSU C-mount laser diodes here for $10 a piece in lots of 20. The bottom 8 leads are slightly positioned differently from the top 12. The emitter silicon appears to me 400 um wide. if these are 3-4W 808 pumps, this could be a great deal. I called them about buying a few to test, but they will only sell the lot.

So, has anyone else tried these? I'm be interested in getting a few, and could easily test for wavelength and emission.

I might be interested in one or two once you know what they are. I have a dead big dipper and a LE 150 that might be ressurected with one of these.

I have a green module that can be resurrected with one of these too, I'll take a couple at $10 a pop!

yeah I think LOT of people would snatch them up at that price, considering 2W chinese c-mounts are $70.

But the big question remains. who is willing to take a risk? if we could pool money and 'get what we get' I'll order a set and run tests, and send them out ot those in the pool.

I'll buy 4 of them and I have a spectrometer so I can measure the exact wavelength.

Shipping would be $2. I have padded envelopes and anti-static bags already for the rohm diodes.

Before everybody starts thinking that they are a bargain, it says in the listing that neither the power or frequency are known.

When they have 15 trays of 20 diodes I would have expected them to do some homework to find the specs.

Maybe they do know the specs but don't want to declare them.

Yes, that did cross my mind, it's possible. But you'd think that even if the specs weren't for pump diodes, if they knew them and posted them, they would be able to get more than $10 a piece.

So I guess you're not interested?
