the i90 medical tubes are great lasers-
although I have a pile I still buy them when the deal is good-

however, for a newcommer, i can be certain the tubes will be high pressure-
such as the forementioned system available on ebay. i have thought about it, but fuel surcharges on freight from the west to east coast dosen't make it worth my while. - none the less you would need to have them pumped down.

they are of re-enterable design for field service, which is why the power supply and "brick type" starters are setup to compensate- it is common for argons in these sleds to be operating at or above 270 volts. if your a newbie and you dont have three phase available to keep the gas burned off from time to time- i would avoid these as they wont fire when you need them too-
    i however love them-

picture one is a full sled-
picture two is the stripped table with just the tubes- heavy- about 200 lbs
picture three shows the signature deviated brewster common on all my krypton only coherent units-

note to buffo- this dovetales on our unfinished discussion about alignining multiple beams of the same color ( although the end result is technically overlapped beams as i discussed )

more to follow- but last point for now address comments about cathode sag-

unless the tube is visibly damaged you will never, ever be able to tell the condition of the cathode by looking at the tube-
a bent brewster stem is just that- a bent stem
the cathode is inside the tube- the only way to determine the condition
(unless its a glass spectra tube- then its visible in the bell ) is to sight down the bore of the laser looking for bore obstructions- obviously with illumination at one end of the tube while the laser is off- or with the cathode heating- but having made provisions to be sure the tube wont aciddentallly lase while your looking-

yes you missed something by not growing up with ions- ( lol ) all the troubles- but all the glory as well

you'll have to pry my ions out of my cold dead fingers-

next post a pic of some of my large frames

and in time the guilt you have been suppressing about dumping the 88 and the purelight- will start waking you up at three am just to laugh in your face-

    lol

always embraceing his new solid state toys, but never missing the chance to lament about his old friends in the land of ions past -

2 questions for you both completely off topic.

Is that an R&R case the I90 sled is sitting on?

What is your signature about? It reminded me about this blog I stumbled on the other day while trying to find funny picture for the joke thread.

They guy has worn a 'Hello My Name is' Sticker every day since some time in the year 2000. He says he is doing it to make a stride to make himself friendlier... or something to that degree.
