    Who are going to spend their Christmas bonus on this
    (mine is not sufficient)

    prices are, I heard, 3800 and 6900euro for 0.6 and 1.2W resp.

    Very nice - I guess this is a multi diode of some sort.
    Anyone any more clues on this

    Yeah I would guess multiple diode too since the specs state that the polarization is random

    However, I thought you could get 500mW 445nm diodes... I wonder if this is one of them driven to 600mW slightly above the diodes specified temp hence 447nm?

    nice catch there mliptack,hope your sitting down when you hear the price lol, i wonder when they will be producing 100,200,300mw diodes at a good price. Maybe one day they will be the same price per mw as the typical red diode time will tell.

    Rob, I clearly overlooked that. I guess the excitement of the 1w diode got to me... Oh well I am sure time will fix the multimode issues.

    Yes I read it excitedly then got to that bit and thought oh poo.
    Im sure something will happen in time - right now I would like to know how much power they can push in single mode. But then if the TV application does not need single mode - will we ever get it?
