    Default ILDA Connector wire

    Hi Guys, I was thinking of using the ribbon type wire you get from a computer which connects the harddrive to the mother board, for hte ILDA connector. Would that be ok to use?

    Never mind, I used a stronger wire...

    Does anyone know where I can get the following from the UK?

    You can deffo buy them with a white plastic surrond from CPC in preston www.cpc.co.uk so I would expect that you could also get them with stainless. Why not just buy the connector and cut a hole - its not a bad shape to make in a panel its just a slot with 2 knobs at the end - or 2 holes. A drill and a file and you will be sorted. Or if you are not up to this the rear mounting plate off an old PC using a 25 D for the rs232 or parallel port. If you are stuck and want one (or a couple) I have some spare though I wont give you the connector - as I use them

    Rob, the only thing I can do is drill holes...I dont know how to make a nice square 'neat' shapes..I did buy a file the other day so I can make eliptical drill holes for minor aligment adjustments.
    Hmm, maybe Ill give it a go.

    you need what I have - see picture.
    If you want one let me know and I will stick it in the post (you are still in credit after the fans )
    if you use this you can drill an ugly hole and make it look neat by placing this over the front of it.

    Cool

    Graham;

    If you want a square hole, buy yourself a dremel tool and use the oxide cutting wheel to cut your sheet metal. Works great. (It's best to drill holes at the corners first... That way the wheel doesn't over-cut the corner.)
