Talking Dichroics from Bridge

Bridge was kind enough to send me a couple of his dichro's to check out. I like them as they have very little loss....He said next time they will be A/R coated and the one's I have are not. Still they do a fine job. The only other thing is that they are 15mm........about .088" too big for a KS-05 mount. If we could find a decent source on a metric mount I feel these will be as good as EO units at a better price. I have this one.....pass red/reflect green-blue. I have measured a total of 2.8mw loss and a reflection of <1 mw with 75mw of 473nm. I like them and will ask to get them for the next projector. I hope that Bridge may be able to provide a mount for them as well in the future.

I have not written up a good report on the BSP....they are the nicest I have tested at less than 2% loss form the wavelengths and power levels chosen for the tests. I will disclose this after more tests are performed.

More to come as I get time to explore these........

Thanks Mike
Yes, I am here declare, we had AR coating dichroic mirror now, yes, my little boy, who is born today. .
Yes, this one is not only simple AR coating than before, they also consider all wavelength you will used, especially the blue lasers, which is much expensive, before we only consider 473nm, yes ,this time we consider 445nm, 457nm, 473nm, so don’t worry waste your valuable blue, we consider all for you.
Ok, the mirror mount ,yes, we did mirror mount for suit our dichroic, many friends ask me to do mirror mount for them, just as we said before, it is our pleasure that can do something or help our customer, so we did the mirror mount for suit our mirror. Later don’t worry about the not suit problem of our mirror and your mirror mount, we did it all for you. One or two one time also ok, help all of you, give all of you pleasure, this make us more pleasure. We will do our better and better.
Merry Christmas to all of you.
Best regards!

I have some of Bridges dichros which I am testing - and they blow edmunds out of the water!

I will be doing a full review when I take some proper measurements but these are so good I am considering rebuilding the optical platform in my RGB to allow me to use these. They are very good without much loss but best of all they have little angular sensitivity. EO dichros vary in performance as the angle changes particularly the blue reflecting dichro whic is at its best at 90 degrees to the beam! The laserwave dichros really do not care on the angle and give a good performance throughout.

Like I said I will review fully and post here - and will have them available for inspection at the UK meet.

I would be very interesting in seeing passthrough and reflectivity measurements at 45 degrees for those. Also, the same with the EO dichros if you have them, for comparison.

I have already done measurements for EO dichros but I tell you you dont need to have a meter to see how much better the LW ones are!
I will post results as soon as I can do some proper tests with the LW ones
