    Default lasers and absolute zero.

omg,i saw the most amazing show on pbs.
nova's program on the race for absolute zero.
the bose einstien condensate that slowed light to the speed of a bicycle had my jaw dropping.
this is truly one of the most amazing shows i have ever seen.
i just wish they had gone into a little more detail on how the lasers aid in cooling.
i'm guessing it has to do with the polarized light at the right frequency keeping the atoms from flipping and generating heat.
if you get a chance,be sure to catch this episode.
i think this is a series.
this episode starts with the early work of liquifying the permanent gases.
