I've been reading a bit around here about blanking, and had recently realized that blanking has more to do with power to the laser itself, turning it on and off. I guess TTL turns it on and off, while I'm not sure what analog blanking does.
Is there a term for mechanical blanking where the beam is blocked, and then unblocked?
Also, another question is how are laser beams terminated in laser shows? Do they have some black container or so the beams go into?
I've read some of the literature on ILDA's site and it's interesting. But I haven't gotten to these aspects I questioned.
