    and here it is ...

the the green laser is fixed and no adjustment is made at anypoint of the beam

the red lasers nearfeld adjustment is done on the first mirror
this makes sure that the green and red are perfectly overlaid it the point of origin, the farfeild adjustment is done on the dichro this makes sure that the both beams are perfectly overlaid over a distance ( say 50 metres )

this is repeated with the blue

and it takes just seconds to get perfect aignment

the red and the blue beams are not reflected at perfect rightangles,

i found that this was the optimum position with the less loss through the dicros

    hope this helps ...... Karl

    Karl,

sorry to say this but I looked at the first picture you posted (http://banthai.com/banthai/laser/laser1.jpg) and was kind of shocking to me
In the background I see a lot of wine boxes in your basement!
If you have an alcohol problem please tell us!!! You know we are your friends here and can help you with this. OK, this is 2008, people are doing bad things these days, but don't keep this problem for yourself, come on!

You can call me too about this.

ok .... yes i do have an alchohol problem .... the problem is its getting too damn expensive,

why do you think its taken me 4 months to get this projector built ?
its tough drilling holes whist holding a glass of wine

but seriously not for consumption by me .... ( well a little tasting now and again ) but for consumption by my customers here...

hope that clears that up .... now back to rehab

    Funny guy you are

Mmmz, well I believe you. The wine list is quite long...
But I see there is no lasershow on one of the other menus.
    Comming soon?

    Hi tocket,

I would take a look at the http://www.thomann.de/ website. They have the site in Swedish as wel.

I get the majority of my lighting equipment from them and the max delivery is 10 euros and if you go over a certain value delivery is free.

Do a search for Thon 4U. The cheapest one they do is around 62 euros.

    Hope that helps

    Hi andre,

Thanks for the reply, though I have actually already purchased the case from that site now. I also took the opportunity to buy a hazer as well as some other useful stuff.

Banthai, your layout of lasers and mirrors seems really good. Whenever I rebuild my projector I will adopt it, because nearfield alignment is a pain in the ass now.

In your beam drawing, it looks like the lasers are not hitting the dichros at 45°. Apparently it works, but is this optimum?

    Hi james

yes ... i ended up with my power meter on the output turning the dichros until i got the best results .... for some reason 45 deg was not the best

    all the best .... karl
