The box is a carbon fiber air intake with 2 filters on either side. Under that their is a manifold with inverted velocity stacks resembling bread...
Other than that all you can see is the massive heads. The exhaust headers aren't even visible from the top.
The engine makes peak torque around 1900RPM with variable intake valve position control and carries it all the way to 5800RPM. Last time I was at the drag strip it ran a 13.2 @ 108MPH in the 1/4 mile. Not bad for a 17 year old, 4K pound car. What this car is known for is the acceleration from 60 to 120MPH. Absolutely freaks me out every time.
If you can find one, now's the time to get one. They have been disappearing very fast due to collectors. I got mine 5 years ago when the price hit rock bottom. Now their collectors items and the price just rises.
