I cut the cable open and found a thick center wire with a layer of plastic over it followed by another layer of many small flimsy wires. I am going to use the center wire as the positive and twist the smaller wires together and use them to make the ground. I feel sort of stupid though. I bought two of the cords thinking "I have 2 lasers I need two cords" Forgetting that I would be cutting the cord in half.
