After being married for 13 years I could sure use some...
Before I got married, a buddy of mine that had been married for several years warned me against tying the knot. "Why"? I asked...
"Because now my wife has half the money and all the poontang".
Back on topic; Crimson Skies is a lot of fun, but it's actually a lousy flight simulator. Throw most of the flight physics out the window on that one. Also, it's mostly based around WWII-style dogfighting. So while it's a great game, if you're looking for a realistic cockpit and real-world performance of the aircraft, Crimson Skies is not for you. (Though personally, I find that it's a very fun game.)
Then again, the more realistic flight sims are also much more difficult to fly. So it depends on how important the realism factor is to you, and how steep of a learning curve you're comfortable with.

Yea, I agree about Crimson Skies. I guess what I liked about it was that it gives the illusion of flying but without the difficulty. And the game scenarios are pretty fun... battling blimps and stuff. LOL
yeah... Though some of the auto-gyro missions were hard. I could never complete the last sequence in anything other than the auto gyro, and man was it hard not to get shot down! Fun game though, and very easy to get started.

Look Up L.O.M.A.C (Lock On- Modern Air Combat)
Wicked Graphics, very realistic, brings you through all training levels (its said that after training in a particular aircraft you should be able to jump into the real deal and fly).
But- you had better have the setup to run it well
I run a P4 3.65 with 8 Gigs of ram (yep ) And a top of the line ATI graphic card and it can still be quirky.
Awsome FS though, I have 2 copies of it if you ever want to try it
X-plane
www.x-plane.com
49.95 and worth every penny. free demo version that cuts off in about 8 minutes. comes in Mac and Linux too.,
One have a high power water cooled graphics card, two, build your own 10 or 12 bit joystick, it has little tolerance for cheap flight controls. (search for EPIC or Mjoy ) I can sell you a programmed MJOY chip at my cost to program one, which is about 6$
One of my favorite toyz is a x-plane based helo sim with 3 screens edge blended on a dome.
You can even use a spare LCD monitor as your instrument panel, its THAT flexible.
A little pain in the neck to configure, but then its BEAUTIUFUl.
PS. let me know if you can manually land the Shuttle, I cant.

Have a look at this one http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/
Try docking the space shuttle with the ISS
Lol- ya, true enough. I do, however, have to give it props for its thoroughness. Plus, I have a 42 inch lcd slammin those graphics into my retinas so it adds to the experience.
X-Plane..... I had an earlier version of it and wasn't impressed- must have come a long way since. I seem to remember that it was open source software.
