Wow...Cool
I almost picked up one of these about a year ago..
I thought I'd use it for shows and use it in my travels.
Turns out I needed more features like all the ports, WiFi and GPS and higher screen resolution..
I was toting around a Gateway 9300 that did everything I needed
for a few years til it took a dirtnap on me while in Canada earlier this year so I finally had to decide..
What I ended up with was a Panasonic Toughbook CF-28 1ghz like this: http://www.toughbookxchange.com/prod...uct.php?II=886
Cept mine has the backlite keyboard and built-in pull-out antenna .
I found it much easier to mod and I could add GPS and Wifi internally along with a built-in antenna.
Plus it had all the nessesary ports I needed for the dayjob tasks.
Plus the touchscreen and see-in-the-dark backlite keyboard.
The only thing was it didnt have the needed 1280 resolution I needed for one particular ap that needed it so I lug around an external LCD monitor for that.
I have since added an internal GPS with a Geohelix active antenna on the lid.
I mostly now use this for the dayjob so they pitched in for the cost of the laptop.
Oh, I dont know about it not being for girls..
Maxy is pretty hard on computers, Altho she is good at building up machines (we also do custom computer work)
I am forever either rebuilding them or cleaning the harddrives she seems to kill on her own computer.
I end up taking over to see where she got hung-up on. Turns out simple tho.
She has killed as many laptops as she has killed cars. so I think she would qualify for a more robust laptop.

Uhh.. me thinks U need to address a couple of your customers that are really pissed off... :\
I'm working on that Steve...
Its just that while trying to get caught up on the posts here I noticed this one and had to add to it..
Besides its for the day job and it was badly needed to get a good laptop to work on the ENG sites that are located on top of buildings and towers.
(my old one died).
I really didnt have to pay much for it..I couldnt have otherwise .
Besides, Im living on Canned ravioli and trailmix and water.
