The collection from the Isle of Wight might also add to the costs.

Sounds like a good deal for a local. I have to say, those pictures of the beam give no reference points. My 300mW RGB could make a picture like that. Not that I really doubt, but those pics could have been taken better. I wonder if that thing has multi line optics.

I'd be amazed if it didn't. You can't get 8 watts out of that tube running it single line. Just about has to be multi-line.

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

I love how the power supply is (VERY RARE!) didn't they make enough of them in the beginning? I mean, one laser head for each power supply...it just makes sense...

    Yes, I'm kidding.

I'd imagine it's not common to have a 208v supply for this model as opposed to a 480v - but wouldn't the current draw be substantial?

I wouldnt...dude is a 15 with 94% not good. Laser is a 8 watt BBMM doing at probably 5 watts...not bad. 2010 head with a 2011 ps and controller (mixed up clugged together). Rare 208 PS he meant the transformer not the power supply. I dont know how much 800 lbs is unless they are talking about the weight If you could get the thing shown to you running at 5 watts BBMM i would pay $1000.00 USD TOPS!!! I was never a big fan of these lasers, they are too hard to work on and to get parts for cheap...stick to the SP 168 Better have 208 VAC 3 phase at 50 amps laying around.
