    Default Lasers Rock over Easter

    Hi all,
Thought you might like to see this (showing off)..
We built a pair of custom projectors for the eyes of a dragon.
This dragon was built for a Rock show in Wellington, New Zealand.
The concert was Kiss, Ossie Osborne, Alice Cooper, WhiteSnake, Poison, Lordi.
The dragon was 7m high and rose out of a pit on a 18m scissor lift and had a 16m wingspan
It was built by Weta Workshops, the guys resposible for Lord of the Rings.
There were 4 puppeters doing the wings, and 2 others inside doing the head, jaw and mouth smoke.
The lasers were Vaishio 1.5w 532nm and the scanners were DT40pro.
We remoted the laser psu's 6m into the dragon body so the laser head scanners and amps were in boxes the size of a large tissue box.
In the pix the laser behind is a Sabre white running about 16w.
I was really pleased to see how well the eyes cut through. Good smoke is the key..

    Default More Dragon Rock pix

Hi Ray.. It was long and loud..
Its was a good challenge, so it was light enough for the head to swing about at speed, but pack some grunt in the way Dragon eyes should..

It is a good space, and we had 2 nights of great weather, in what can be a very windy city. No, that is Sven, one of my rigging crew... i am older and uglier..

    OMG !!
    No hard hat.
    No flourescent jacket
And a big dragon behind him without guards over those nasty sharp teeth!!

"Elf and safety" numpties would go berserk in this country at the imminent mortal danger he's in !!
