    Default Intro

Hello everyone, I've been reading and learning from this forum for some time now, this has been an invaluable place to learn about lasers. I started my first laser proyector so I guess is about time I introduced myself.

Im an Industrial Enginner student from Mexico, I first saw a laser show in Australia by a company named Oracle Laser, since then I have been facinated by them and have saved enough to start my own.

    I started with this parts:

FB3 -there is not much I can add, Bill just an amazing service and quality.

635 Red, dichros and mounts from Bridge, lovely guy and great service.

    532 Green from Lasever

Im new in this and I whant to give back something to the forum, I guess I can start by posting pictures that I know everyone here loves, I will take some tomorrow morning.

    Cool

    Hi Joel;

Welcome to PhotonLexicon. Hope you like it here.

When you get a chance, post some pictures of the RYG projector you are building. (We like pictures!)

    Default My first proyector

Finally some pictures, everything is running and working fine, I just need to mount and align the galvos.

The first pictures is a comparison of the footprint for the Red (635) and Green, the red is much bigger and its a rectangle, Im not sure if it should be this big.

The second two are my proyector, I havent been able to find a pice of alluminum to mount everything so I started out with wood, the lasers are mounted on springs to make it easier to level them; I then added blue tack to make it sturdier.

    Cheers

Move green to the front 1/2 from the dicro and place its power supply behind it. Mount all PS and drivers vertically. If you do so you will have a place for a blue in the future.
I hired an Italian guy to do my wires. Now they look like spaghetti!

Wow, that red dot is huge... I dont have any red laser yet, but is this normal ?

what is actually the best for red, regarding beam specs :
    660 diode
    635 diode
    635 dpss
    ?

    Hi,

    635nm Orange red
    660nm dark red
Diode laser module beamdiameter ca: 5-8mm (No good)
    or
    Two 660nm 200mw dioden laser + polecube 400mW red and beamdiameter 2-3mm.

    Two 660nm 200mw dioden laser + polecube 400mW red and beamdiameter 2-3mm.
Do you mean that a single 660nm, 200mw doesnt have a good beam, and that the polarisation cube makes the beamspec better ?
Or do you mean that only the +200mw diodes have bad specs, and anything below 200 is good ?

Sorry for all these questions, i'm quite new in this hobby

Diameter of a dioda laser is 1,5-2mm, if it's equals or lower than 200mW.
If you need more power then you can chose a stronger laser, but usually its diameter is larger (5-8mm). I think it is a littlebit large if you use it for animations. Or you can merge two smaller laser beam with a polarisation cube to get a thiner beam.
You can see a picture about this solution.
