    yep working better not as bright as it used to be on my other dac
    it was all down to tec cooling one laser could not cope with fb3 blanking
    frequency played some complex images paused and dialed in the tec temp controller till green stopped flashing bright

    Some of these things require "in person" view of the problem. That's why I really like these PL gatherings. It gives people a chance to share equipment stories, see and resolve the problems in person. And everyone is eager to help.

    I am glad you were able to get better performance from your laser. Probably you will notice that it changes from image to image. Just like scanner amps and tuning is one problem for PL members (hopefully a fading problem as techniques and equipment improves), laser diode drivers is another problem. Seems like the next hurdle to overcome.

    As I alluded in a previous post, we have a third-year (or is it fourth-year?) engineering student who is interning with us at Pangolin. His field of study in school is lasers, and he is working on evaluating the meriad of laser diode drivers out there. I am sure this work will no doubt result in some recommendations to manufacturers, and improvements in the images.
