To my opinion the main fans should be sucking the heat out of laser head. Otherwise You will be pumping lots of hot air into the head housing. I suppose all the ALC heads are designed for 'sucking-cooling'.
Steve, what's Your opinion ?

The centrifugal fan or fans have to suck especially in the orientation that they are fixed to the 68.
The Papst fans can either blow or suck but if a centrifugal fan is used then the have to blow cool air into the frame area to help the air flow over the cooling fins of the tube. Blow in, suck out----- oooh errr missis![]()

I used your exact method Simon and it worked. Thanks you SO much for that information it saved a hell load of hassle.
I did exactly as you said and that first tiny flash of Coherent light was nearly as comforting as and orgasm
Walking the mirrors in was fun. I used a lens to create a larger spot on the other end of the shed wall which made the job so much easier to do.
Made up or what !!!

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Yes Jem, it will be at the next UKLEM. I have just got to now get the PCAOM fitted and all wired and then add a scan set and it will be flying.
I think I am going to need a little advice on the wiring of the PCAOM though as it's a little daunting.
I have a small 250mW 635 pointer here as well which I might try to get incorporated onto the beam table.
Correct me if I am wrong someone but can I use my spare EO 635nm 45 degree reflect dichro to add the 635nm from the pointer into the 5 lines from the 68, before the PCAOM and the scan set to give me white light?
