Default Back from SIB International 2008

A mini report after visiting SIB International 2008 in Rimini, (Italy)

Sib is the expo for audio, lighting and video technology and services for the show business world and entertainment in general, that took place from 5 to 8 April (few weeks ago).

Pangolin was there and shared the stand with an interesting company from Hungary: RGB Laser System International. www.rgblasersystem.com

I met Mr. Hale from Orlando and I had a very nice conversation with Mr. Uglesic from the european division of Pangolin, wich is deeply involved in the development of the Flashback 3 design.

I told him that here on PL there is a sort of a Flashback3 Fan Club, so I recommended him to take a look...
    People from
RGB Laser System where also very friendly, in particular Mr. Bozsò.
He showed me an incredibly small Blue laser module prototype, rated 1,6Watt, the size of a generic 100mw TTL
Wavelengt is 445nm and is not DPSS, but DIODE.
I asked for prices and specs:
    model D1-B
    500 mW output
    445 nm
    beam quality M2 1,5
    Beam diamether 3 mm
    div. 0,8 mRad
    polarization linear
    beam mode multi
    modulation analog up to 30K
    volt 90 - 240
    price approx. 3000 Euro

    model D2-B
    1000 mW output
    445 nm
    beam quality M2 1,5
    Beam diamether 3 mm
    div. 0,8 mRad
    polarization random
    beam mode multi
    modulation analog up to 30K
    volt 90 - 240
    price approx. 6000 Euro

    model D4-B
    2000 mW output
    445 nm
    beam quality M2 3
    Beam diamether 3 mm
    div. 1,4 mRad
    polarization random
    beam mode multi
    modulation analog up to 30K
    volt 90 - 240
    price approx. 10800 Euro

    size:
    L=112 W=103 H=42,9 (millimeters).

I was also stunned by the quality of the projectors from HB-germany and by the weird effects generated by a scanner from LSE-Belgium

I know that you are thirsty of pictures, so here is a very compressed clip in real video (36mB), using my brand new HD camera.

    http://www.infoparty.org/pitotv/sib2008pitotv.rm

If anyone is interested, I have a DivX HD 1200x720 of the same clip.
    Unfortunately
I had no tripod and the show from RGBlasersystem suffered some scan rate conflict with my camera.

    Hi,

I know a Hungarian company (ProLaser). They use products of RGB Laser System International for years.
I think the RGB Laser System International make their products for proffessional usage.

Haaa.... OK, now I'm able to link you to your nick

It was very very nice to meet the whole group.
Sorry that the clip quality of your show was not as good as HB (But they are using Pangolin stuff too ).
Now I have a better control of my camera (It was just one week old )
I was filming in hdv at 1080 25P (amazing on full hd screen).
Maybe I might include in the clip the show with the dancers in Victoria's Secret outfit. (Sorry that you had to stay at your stand, you probably missed the most.....)
    All the best

After a long long time, here is a clip of that day.
Weeks later, I discovered that HB lasers made 2 nice holes in my HD CMOS brand new camera (precisely placed at the two beams sources)
