SELEM 2008 Logo Design

Since "SELEM" is an acronym, should the letters be all upper-case?

Well...it seems as though the word " selem " is in the semitic/Hebrew language....I think it means " image"....how about that !!!!! so...I guess we're OK either way !!Upper case or lower case !!!

I can't draw to save my life, and I'm only marginally proficient in Paint Shop Pro, so I think it would be best if I stayed out of the art contest!

However, I like the designs that have been submitted so far. With regard to Bob's design, we could do that one with 6 colors (text and mirrors in grey, red, green, blue, and yellow for the beams, and then white for the final beam), but it would mean more work for DZ. I think the design would look better with "photonlexicon.com" positioned below the rest of the picture. (maybe move the curved "2008" part up a bit?)

Steve-o's second design is pretty cool as well. And just 2 colors! I think it would look better with a single laser line (ending in the laser burst) separating the two lines of text though, rather than the zig-zag. And I agree - all caps looks better for the SELEM part.

Great ideas so far, guys! Keep 'em coming!

Very nice logo Mike. I think it we could simplify whats under SELEM 2008, that would help. Plus reverse the color output of the prism at the top. This one would have my vote so far.

Reversing the beams? A prism doesnt deflect a longer wavelength as much as a short one?
