    Default Trance music is dead!

Haha not really. Many internet radio station statistics and polls say otherwise.
Just looking @ di.fm statistics will reveal that there 10 times more Trance listeners then House. Second place is Chill. As a club worker I say that every time Dj puts a Trance anthem crowd just explodes. Yes I must agree that as a major club style Trance is not that good. But everywhere else... I keep hearing - Trance is dead. BS it's not dead.

yeh i was gonna say. trance isnt dead, if it was, that would be news to the trance headliners that play to 60,000+ people crowds

Miami, FL is starting to favor house over trance but when a trance act is in Miami it still seems to sell out....

Because I just don't know... What is a good example of a "Trance anthem"? I'd like to hear one! And - can you give me a good definition of "Trance"?

    Thanks!

If you don't know Google is your best friend as well as wikipedia and Ishur Guide to Electronic Music
Trance is the most emotional genre. It can make you cry, make you shout, make you cheer, and make you celebrate absolutely nothing of substance except pure, ecstatic bliss. This is interesting, when at one time it was very repetitive and hypnotic (hence its label 'trance') and was very easy to get lost in whilst divulging in aforementioned emotions. But now it's quite difficult to get entranced due mostly to the fact that the genre has devolved into such trite, derivative junk that even the biggest culprits of it are having trouble lying about how interesting it is. If you ignore the cliched, breakdown-build-anthem template side of the genre that is so canned and predictable you can set your watch to it, trance is still pretty fun. Unless you're trying to be a Sasha worshipping pretentious snob not partaking in that, in which case you don't even want to admit you're listening to trance anymore.

Also DI.FM is a good start.

Trance is dead, neo-rave is the new trance!
    Check out www.bangface.com

Oh, I just got back from the Bangface Weekender festival in UK and there was some nice old-school green lasers on the main stage. It was especially cool during the Altern8 set with three greenies doing old-school tunnels and such over a crazy ordience throwing inflatable animals and balloons in the beams!

I miss the old times when trance was growing ...
And when you was suddenly suprised with a new trance track, and another one, and one more every week..

But now it is not so much new trance that kicks ass..
I miss the old Tiesto, Armin van buren, ATB, Darude.... and more..
